Jamtli is temporarily open weekends.
A castle building, a theater king and skilled diplomats: important ingredients in the flourishing cultural life of the 18th century. Meet the artists who brought rococo to Sweden, and those who left the country for brilliant careers at the continent's court.
The new exhibition at the National Museum Jamtli is about the relations between Sweden and Europe during the 18th century in the field of visual arts and crafts. It takes you through a century marked by war and difficult hardships, but also by future optimism, useful thinking and the belief in science where art was closely related to politics and diplomacy.
