What happens if you cross flamenco with jazz?
Saxophonist Perico Sambeat, born in Valencia, Spain, knows this. In addition to being an acclaimed saxophonist, he is also a composer and arranger, active in Europe as a soloist and with his own quartet. With roots in the jazz idioms of the 50's and 60's, Perico Sambeat has made it his sign to combine jazz's improvisational music with flamenco.
Now he is visiting the Nordiska Blåsarkvintetten in Sundsvall with an exciting program filled with newly written music as well as well-known jazz classics in new arrangements. A multi-faceted meeting between the Spanish music tradition, wind music for quintet and jazz's rich song treasure.
Presented in collaboration with Musik Västernorrland.
At present, an audience ceiling of a maximum of 100 people applies.
