Exhibition - The cabinet, For women's suffrage 100 years

Location: Östersund city
Category: Exhibits

The CABINET at Busstorget shows the exhibition For women's voting rights 100 years.

It is 100 years since women in Sweden were able to vote for and be elected to the Riksdag for the first time. As a thank you to the 6970 women in Jämtland and Härjedalen who signed up for women's political suffrage, we read out their names in a marathon reading on Stortorget in Östersund on 11 September. A CABINET of the 370 pages of the name collection is displayed in the CABINET. Thank you for signing up.

At the National Archives you can view the signatures, see link below.

Malin Palmqvist is a freelance journalist and critic who also runs her own projects such as the memorial collection ‘The Hidden City / The Hidden Landscape’ and now a marathon reading.

Linda Petersson Ödbring has a Master's degree from the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm. She works widely in the art field with everything from traditional techniques to more conceptual art projects, often around with topics related to women's history.
