Jazzköket Live - Vincent Jedselius

After a well-filled playing year before the pandemic where Vincent has, among other things, opened to acts like Doug Seegers and Carson Mchone, he is now returning to Östersund for a gig at Jazzköket!

Vincent Jedselius can be mentioned as a kind of hometown-raving anti-hero from the small mill town Fagersta in the heart of Bergslagen. Because it is precisely Bergslagen in general and Fagersta in particular that Vincent talks about. It is certainly romantic in some respects, but the motley upbringing is also reminiscent. It's about family losses, drug-filled teens, the quest to get away from there but also the gratitude of having grown up there.

The grandiose, rolling-thundering and slightly melancholy American that Vincent lifts out has elements of both blues and soul music. It is sometimes swinging, sometimes emotionally charged and despite the melancholy, the self-distance is present enough to be able to offer some humor as well.
