January 8–15, 2023, the U18 World Championship for women will be held in Östersund. The hosts are the Swedish Ice Hockey Association together with the International Ice Hockey Association, Östersunds IK and Brunflo IK.
The championship will be played in Östersund Arena and in Klanghallen Brunflo.
Sweden has one of the world's best leagues in the SDHL Svenska Spel Women's Hockey League and interest in Swedish women's hockey is growing. The tournament will be an opportunity for tomorrow's stars to show off. Game schedule will be presented later.
In the U18 World Championship , 8 nations take place - Canada, USA, Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Germany. Which the eighth team will be, will be decided during the upcoming World Cup in the USA.
The championship is also broadcast on SVT.
