Saturday's concert offers music by the women's choir SSAA, Sami participation and the Norwegian work Magnificat by Kim Arnesen, which was first performed in Nidaros Cathedral in 2010. The concert takes place in connection with the inauguration of a new Sami work of art in the Great Church (NOTE! The inauguration of the work of art takes place on Sunday 26 March in Högmässan at 11), a so-called Maria mug created by Annamaria Marsfjell.

MAGNIFICAT is the Virgin Mary's praise to God after one of the Bible's greatest miracles: the angel Gabriel visits her with the message that she will become the mother of God's son. In his musical setting, composer Kim André Arnesen expresses the emotions that Maria may have felt: wonder, devotion, gratitude, joy, humility, hope and compassion. God's choice of an unknown woman living in poverty to be the mother of his son is an upside-down view of the world if ever there was one - and Arnesen sees the Magnificat as a support and hope for all people struggling against adversity or in need of strength.
