About the Wermland Ensemble:
The Wermlandsensemble is a vocal ensemble founded in 1982 by a few enthusiastic and experienced choristers. The ensemble worked for the first 8 years without a regular conductor but was led by various guest conductors such as Eric Ericsson, Gösta Ohlin, Terje Kvam and Grethe Helgeröd.
Between 1990 and 2017, Gunno Palmquist, professor of choral conducting at Gothenburg University, was the choir's leader.
The choir's main focus is classical Western music from the Renaissance to the premiere of newly written works, but it also moves freely in other genres.
Since 2017, the Wermland Ensemble has been working again without a permanent conductor and has worked in projects with both Wermland Opera's former chief conductor Johannes Gustafsson, Mats Nilsson and Gunnar Ericsson!
