After an acclaimed tour last year, Özz Nûjen is touring again with the Riksteatern in the play Laika. A smart, warm and funny play where seriousness and laughter go hand in hand.
A man returns to earth. Through the window of the bar where he becomes a regular, he watches the people passing by; the haves and the have-nots, the included and the excluded.

Generous and poetic, he preaches with both humor and seriousness about society's shortcomings; gives a voice to those who are not otherwise given space to be heard. In the stories we get to share, small miracles take shape. Maybe it is the case that there is a miracle in all of us?

The play is created by the Italian actor and writer Ascanio Celestini, who also directs Özz Nûjen in the Riksteatern's production.

Ascanio Celestini sees the world from the perspective of the disadvantaged and captures the audience with his descriptions of social and political injustices in an irresistible way. As an audience, you constantly feel the underlying seriousness while laughing your way through the performance.

On tour with the Riksteatern in the fall of 2022. Laika had its Swedish premiere at the Riksteatern in the fall of 2021.

Recommended from 16 years.
