During the presidential election in Belarus in the summer of 2020, three actors from a free theater group in Minsk end up in a maelstrom of mass protests. They take to the wide streets of Minsk to loudly demonstrate for freedom of expression and the long-awaited change of power. But the people's voice is brutally crushed by the regime's security apparatus. The members of the theater group and many others are arrested. The country is on the brink of civil war.
Courage follows the courageous and peaceful resistance of Maryna, Pavel and Denis before and during the protests. The film gives a personal perspective on the events and a close and moving insight into the lives of people in today's Belarus, who are fighting for their freedom and the right to democracy.
